Hockenheimring race track
The Hockenheimring is an automobile circuit located near the town of Hockenheim in the north of the Land Baden-Württemberg in Germany. It was built in 1932 on forest trails, initially as a Mercedes test track, it is still one of the oldest circuits still in use for the Grand Prix in Germany . Ideally, Hockenheim can be divided into two parts. The fast section through the forest and the famous Motodromo (Stadium), a mixed section, very slow and winding, inserted in a complex of grandstands that make it look just like a stadium, and that is connected with the finish straight and the box area.
Now offers room for over 110,000 spectators.
In 2002 the track was completely upset, with the drastically shortened high speed section, new grandstands and some tight corners were built to create more overtaking opportunities for Formula 1 cars. Land Baden-Württemberg supported the restructuring financially and since then the official name of the circuit is Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg.
The track went from 6,825 meters of 2001 to the current 4,574. In addition to the main track, a safe driving center inside the circuit was also built.
